Warm Embrace: Cheddar Broccoli Soup in a Bread Bowl (Panera Bread Copycat)

There's an undeniable magic in the way fall gives me a desire for warm, hearty meals. What better way to celebrate this cozy time of year than with a steaming bowl of Cheddar Broccoli Soup nestled in a freshly baked bread bowl? Inspired by the beloved Panera Bread classic, this copycat version is even better than the original if you ask me!

For the Bread Bowls:

Ingredients:

- 4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 packet active dry yeast

- 1 1/2 cups warm water

- 1 tablespoon sugar

- 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.

5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide the dough into 4 portions, shape them into rounds, and let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.

6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.

Bringing It All Together

Once your bread bowls are golden brown and your soup is simmering with goodness, it's time to assemble. Carefully hollow out the centers of the bread bowls, leaving a thick, sturdy shell. Pour the velvety Cheddar Broccoli Soup into each bread bowl, and sprinkle with extra cheese if you want.

So here's to fall, to the simple joys of hearty soups, and to the magic of recreating beloved classics in the comfort of your home. May your days be filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious taste of this Cheddar Broccoli Soup in a Bread Bowl.

Happy cooking!
